Even though the months from September through November in industrial automation are extremely busy, August was already a full “preseason”!

Over the past month, I’ve had the fortune to visit the offices of four different system integration companies to hear directly from them about how their businesses grew, how CSIA Membership and CSIA Certification benefits them, and what additional resources the association could provide.  

Fellow CSIA Members Speak Our Language

 I was amazed that multiple SIs used almost the exact same phrase to say why they were invested in the organization: “Fellow CSIA Members speak our language.”  To me, this reinforces the importance for CSIA to continue to drive networking and collaboration opportunities within the organization, including at events and in committees, SIGs, and peer groups.

I want to thank the George T. Hall Company, Enterprise Automation, Patti Engineering, and Actemium for being great hosts!  I appreciated the candid discussions and took away many great ideas on how to adapt the association to better serve the members.  I will continue to reach out to members when I am on the road, and I invite you to reach out to me if you’d like to schedule a visit. 

CSIA on the Road

As mentioned in the last newsletter, CSIA will be attending a range of events this fall. By the time this is published, CSIA will have exhibited at the Manufacturing in America show on September 10, and just finished meeting with many members at the Partner Meeting on September 23-24 in Chicago. 

In November, I will be accompanying Beckhoff at an event for system integrators within the framework of Industrial Transformation México (ITM) in Mexico City, attending the Innovation Summit held by Schneider Electric in Las Vegas, and exhibiting at Automation Fair held by Rockwell Automation in Chicago.

At Automation Fair, you can meet a number of members of the CSIA team at the CSIA booth (312) during the expo, so be sure to stop by if you’re there. In fact, the Emerging Leaders are organizing a lunch meet up, you can find details here.
